How do I find zip files in windows explorer?
My ZIP files are things I download so I look in Downloads under Favorites. You can also do a search usingWindows Explore for ZIP..

Hello Herm,
You could do a search using *.zip to find all ZIP files in the opened folder or drive. :)
Search in Windows 7
Hope this helps,
Shawn
That’s where I thought they’d be, but download is empty and I evidently don’t know how to search for zip files.
A search of C: comes up with nothing.
Just to see if it any may be in a hidden folder, use step 2 in OPTION ONE of the tutorial below to have hidden files display, then try the search again.
Hidden Files and Folders - Show or Hide
I’ve read the tutorial you suggested and many others on search to no avail. Despite making sure that downloaded files go into download it still continues to be empty in windows explorer despite my testing. I’m very befuddled.
Herm61, are you searching for any specific zip file ? Have you created it or downloaded it ? Downloaded zip files may also have some other extension names like .rar etc.
So, better search the downloads folder itemwise ?
Message for Blink (Shawn). I tried to send this to you as a guest but got an error message.
Shawn – Good news. I found a zip file in my download. Thanks for your help! Herm
