Autoplay popup for ext. HDD on every boot

This is something simple yet annoying. Upon every boot I get a auto play popup for my ext hdd.

I've googled A LOT and can't find the solution. All I see is stuff telling me to turn off all of the auto play for all devices. Either all or nothing it seems. The ext hdd isn't listed under devices in the auto play (where u can pick settings for individual devices) which I found out here :

What would keep a device from appearing under "Devices" in AutoPlay?
If you have connected a volume device to your computer (for example, a USB flash drive or external hard drive), that device will not appear in the Devices section of AutoPlay. AutoPlay only lists non-volume devices (for example, some digital cameras, video cameras, and phones). This is because these devices don't use a standard file system and AutoPlay cannot browse the contents of these devices to see what types of files they contain.

So is there a clever or obvious way I'm not thinking of to disable auto play for a external hard drive that is constantly connected to the PC?

Wasn't sure what section but seeing as it's a Windows 7 related issue. This was the best I could think of.

See if This post helps you. If you edit the registry, be sure to make a backup, or complete sysem image first.

Thanks for the reply and links. I do have backups of my system going to my homeserver so can try the registry edit. Although in that topic I noticed a lot of mention of having the drive connected to USB 3. Which I think I do. So I will see if changing that solves it.

EDIT: Actually I didn't have it connected to USB 3.

I should mention this PC in question here, isn't the same as the one listed in my system specs. It's this one.

And the external hard drive isn't exactly a regular external hard drive. It's an Archos Media Player Av700 is the model. Formatted in Fat 32.

Will try out the reg edit next.

EDIT: Tried that regedit. The steps didn't specify whether to choose 64-bit or 32-bit so I tried both one after the other. No luck.

It's not the biggest deal in the world just annoying. I wish I knew how to run a script or something to close it on startup.
