64 to 32 bit downgrade

    I'll give you the 2 GB part, as it means x64 isn't really a necessity. I'd still go with it and upgrade the memory.

    As for the wireless network comment, my resistance power is weak. Whoever told you that needs a swift kick between the butt cheeks. If you have drivers for your wireless card in Vista x64, then you should also be able to have it working in Windows 7 x64. Once you do, connecting to a wireless network is fully functional.

    only 32 bit operating systems are compatible with the software used to connect to the schools network.

    but ive now got win 7 32 bit running its its great so far!

    What software is needed to connect to their wireless network? Is it like a VPN connection?
