New partition not showing for me to use

Right click command prompt and choose "run as administrator" before you actually open the command prompt window.

You need to expand that better, Can`t read everything. I thought you only had 2.

The OP is saying that the 288 GB partition as shown in the last pic will not accept a drive letter and is not usable as is.

It doesn't show up in the upper portion of that pic, where the other 3 partitions do correctly appear.

Yeah, I'd guess that other one is tools of some type.

The other partitions were already on here when I bought my computer 3 days ago. I wanted to separate my C: drive into separate partitions for OS and Data in case something goes wrong I won't necessarily lose all my data (I also use an external back up as well)

I was actually talking to Brink on the 1st question.

And the OP on the 2nd.

So Brink, even if you dropped in your PW boot disc it wouldn`t be able to make it primary ?

If you like, go ahead and delete this logical partition until it's "unallocated space", then start over using OPTION TWO in the tutorial below using the free program in it. :)

Partition / Extended : Logical Drives

With this software it shows the space as unallocated, type is logical - when I click "create" do I need to make the drive primary or leave as logical?

Do you have a W7 dvd ? Did you create a startup repair disc yet ?
