Have you tried windows 8 preview release? I've played with it, a little over a month but I was having problems with GPU and chipset drivers...this was due to old mobo and GPU. Honestly, I really liked it. It's fast...but takes some getting used to. Once you figure out the in's and out's you'll be flying.

I say go for it on at least one of them.

Windows 8 is terrible for a desktop or a laptop. It is designed for a touch screen.

Make disk images of 7 before you install 8 or you will be sorry.

I`ve given 8 two chances and IMHO I think it`s garbage. You`d be better off installing it on a test pc.

If you burn a set of recovery disks before installing/upgrading to windows 8 you can use them to go back to the factory installed Windows 7. Failing that you can use the Product code on the COA sticker to reinstall Windows 7, assuming you have install media. You may have to activate by phone when using the product code on the COA sticker. The original OEM-SLP activation didn't use that code. Its still valid but Microsoft makes you phone activate to use it.

If you can throw us a pic of your disk management b4 you start, we could advise you on how to set it up. That way when your sick of 8, you could remove it easily.
