    Windows 7 64-Bit(Need a Advice)

    Hi everyone. :)

I have a system like that:

    P4 Hyper Threading 1 MB @3.5 ghz
    2 GB DDR2 667 mhz ram
Ati radeon hd 2600 pro 512 mb 128 bit
    80 gb sata hdd

I am now using windows 7 rtm 32-bit and i want to install windows 7 rtm 64 bit. Should i install Windows 7 rtm 64 bit. May it slows down my computer or make it faster ?

    Thanks.

Oversimplified answer - stick with 32-bit until you have more RAM.

64-bit does not make your computer faster. It enables your computer to perform some tasks more efficiently.

P4? Didn't think there were any that were x64 capable, unless it is from the 5xx series and up,

On that system, I'd stick with x86 anyway. First, because it will probably cost you a small fortune to upgrade to 4 GB of memory, and second, because your processor may not even be compatible with it. That money you would spend could be used to bring you up into the multi-core processing era instead.

I have the P4 HT 550 at 3.4 gHz stock and that is not x64 capable.
The P4 HT 650 at 3.4 gHz is though.
    There's also a 551 with x64 capabilities. I missed x64 by a number lol.
