Is there any way for me to save my files? Could it be as easy as removing my hard drive and placing in a new one, then reinstalling windows?

    Won't be quite that simple,but:

You can boot from a system repair disc, go to a command prompt and then copy everything dear to your heart to a usb stick.

The same can be accomplished using a Win 7 DVD.

    Another approach:
    Put PuppyLinux on a CD
    Boot from that CD.
Use PuppyLinux to copy your files to a usb drive/stick.

    PuppyLinux is rather intutitive.

PuppyLinux doesn't install anything on your computer.

Thanks everyone, I'll give those a shot, although I believe a repair install will simply not read the CD.

Did you even read Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7?

There is a step in it to rescue your files.

You can also try working through Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Boot which includes a System file check done from the installer/Repair CD's Command Line that can possibly repair the System Files damaged by using an Registry Cleaner - the surest way to ruin your Win7.
