Steelbom, has it been sorted for you as well?
Had another incident today and again it was immediately after closing the browser. Still think it is just a matter of waiting for the exe to finish its cleanup upon shutdown. System continues to be stable.

Won't have time to see about this for the next week or so as I''m off to Denver, Co USA for the Win7 roll out event next thursday. I also have family there so can you say vacation. The only PC I will have access here with will be my old Dell dimension C600 PIII@1GHz & 512 ram running Win7. Always fun to play with the old and the new combined....so far no issues with Hibernate (sleep not an option) but it works just fine. Man its good to be going home for a visit. Motorcycle rides on the Peak to Peak highway can't be beat and the train cars coffee house in Nederland is a great place to stop for a quiet cup of earl gray.
Life is good.

Interesting Bob. I'll do some testing this weekend to see if I can get my computer to wakeup when trying to sleep and hibernate right after closing IE8.

Hi, I've not been on the computer that often, and on Windows 7 even less,
So unfortunately I've not tried anything yet. I'll let you know when I do though.

Kind Regards

Thanks Shawn,
I actually use Firefox most of the time, not sure about IE8. I will be monitoring your posts related to this issue.

Bob,

I could not reproduce what you are experiencing. My computer went to sleep and hibernation without issue right after I closed IE8 and put it to sleep and hibernate. Did not wake up once.

Thanks for trying with this issue. One additional piece of info is: I use a wireless mouse and keyboard (Microsoft) through an IOgear KVM to connect to the machines.

Bob, are you using the latest 7.0 drivers for your MS mouse and keyboard?

Does the problem continue if you do not use the IOgear KVM?

That's a good question. Drivers...I think so but can't check until next Monday when I get home. Without KVM ...I will try without it when I get home.

Problem solved...Was running Nvidia driver 190.38. Updated to driver 191.07 and the problem no longer occurs (1 week no re-occurrence).

Ok, this is a problem I've had for about 4 months. It's very sporadic and intermittent and despite my best efforts, I've been unable to solve it. I put the system into sleep mode, and almost every time it wakes up immediately. I have narrowed it down to a keyboard issue (Logitech Illuminated...
