    When I sleep Windows 7 it just wakes up?

    Some reason whenever I sleep Windows 7, it wakes up within 15 seconds.
    Anyone know why?? that's kind of weird.

    Perhaps this is an issue that is common, I have the RC build 7100

    Kind Regards

    Hello Steelbom,

    In addition to Antman's post, a usual cause is the "Allow to wake computer' option set in the network adapters "Power Management" property settings in Device Manager.

    Hope this helps,

    @Antman, thanks

    BEFORE STARTING:1. Make sure you have the latest device drivers and BIOS installed for your motherboard.
    NOTE: A out-of-date video driver or other drivers are sometimes the source of sleep mode problems. It is best to keep these up to date to resolve issues found with them.
    Uh oh, I don't got a bios! :P

    @Brink, thanks, I think that might be it, I queried to see what devices can wake the computer, only the keyboard, mouse, and two ethernet devices (only one is plugged in).

    Changing those settings only change stuff on the OS right? not on the hardware, so changing this setting in Windows 7, won't effect Snow Leopard? I don't think it will.

    Kind Regards

    Steelbom,

    No, it will only not allow your network adapter to wake the computer up. That's all. :)

    I have experienced this issue and am beginning to figure my pc issue's out. At first I had the issues that Antman pointed out and solved them (I thought) by changing my settings per the article but over time I noticed that there is an additional issue that seems to occur when I was web surfing just prior to putting the pc to sleep. With testing I have found that the browser takes a short time to finish shutting down and that if I wait a minute or so after closing my browser down then my pc does not wake back up, however, if I put the PC to sleep immediately after closing the browser I invariable have to put it back to sleep. I am also running the 7100 RC version.
