Can't wake laptop from sleep with wireless Kboard/mouse

I have read many threads on this, but I cant seem to get my laptop to wake using the wireless kboard/mouse. I have a HP pavilion dv4 with windows 7 x32, and a logitech LX710 Kboard/mouse. I am beginning to think that I will not be able to wake on this laptop.

Allow this device to turn on computer is greyed out in device manager. I have accessed the bios, but did not see anything that looked like it pertained to this issue. I am far from a computer expert, so any help is greatly appreciated. thanks!

Try Using a standard usb keyboard & mouse. If they work then yes, wireless is your problem.

I never put my desktop to sleep and it stays on 24 hours a day. With a laptop, you are turning it off, why are you using sleep? Go into Control Panel, Power Options, Change Plan Settings, Under "Put Computer to Sleep" choose the minutes you want before it goes to sleep. You had written in your message "Device Manager", I assume you mean "Control Panel". See if that is what you want.

I will check using the regular usb mouse/kboard. When I referred to device manager, I read that the usb controller might not have permission to turn the computer back on(it is off). this is the case, the option to allow this is greyed out and does not allow me to select it.

Also, I put it to sleep because the fan goes into hyperspeed even when I am not using it (it is just annoying).
