Icon files in wondows 7

just wondering why my MS word doc files are showing up differently to what they normally would. the docx files are showing up fine its jus the regular doc files that look weird. only my vista cpu they look normal. I know its a small problem but its annoying me

and its not because the icons are large... even when they are small icons the doc files look like strange

Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1

That's probably due to the way MS Word assigns those icons under Windows 7. You should be able to change them to be identical, if that's what you are after.

On my PC doc files look like what they should, but docx appear as text files....

I have not figured out the problem.
