    Hello Rohammaster,

See if using step 3 in OPTION THREE of the tutorial below to take ownership and allow yourself permission of the registry key may allow you to afterwards. :)

VMware is the makers of Virtual Machine programs such as Fusion, for Mac, Player and Workstation 7. 8. 9 for Windows. along with other Virtualizing software.

What exact key are you trying to change and why are are you trying to change it?

Let the Installer of Ver. 9 do another uninstall of Ver. 7. You should have a Key for the new version of VMware workstation. They would of sent it to you in am email. At first startup of Ver 9 it will more then likely ask for the license key. Type it in or Copy it from the email and paste it into the License key box.

Not sure why you are trying to change the key. If you originally mistyped the key you kshould be able to change it from within the program. Look for Registration or License info in one of the menus.

Why can't you install the new version? If you can't install the new version why are you trying to change the key of the old version.

Sorry none of that makes sense to me.

    Good Luck.
