I'm not taking sides and I apologise for side tracking with my part about Timezones. Did suggest that we conduct that on PM basis but that didn't happen. My fault and I will put mu hand up to that. But lets be fair especialy to Greg, read again the OP's remarks in post #26. That would have got really up my nose!

    Hello all,

I have been searching for a few days for a solution to this disaster that I should blame "hummm" for. anyway, I know there are tons of threads/tutorials about moving A win7 hdd to new hardware, however, I did not find a single solution that helped me (tried most, no luck).

So here is what I want to do exactly:
    1) I have a laptop that has NON-OEM Win7x32 on it that need to move to a tower.
    2) Custom built PC with NON-OEM win7x64 that I'm planning on upgrading its Mobo and CPU.

Any NEWER solutions are welcome. Clean install is NOT AN OPTION.

    Thank you.
    What?
1)If I understand, Get some tools, move the drive to the tower, boot, reactivate, reinstall all new drivers.

    2) Same here, change the components, reactivate, install new drivers.

Clean install is always an option and I would recommend it in these cases.

Does NON-OEM mean a full retail version?
