Win 7 - 32 bit Recovery Error Help

Thanks for your help in advance. I have a few weird problems that just started on my computer. I'm using a Dell Latitude laptop and every time I shut the screen, when I open it up, I have a black screen that say's "Windows Recovery Error."
I start windows and suddenly the driver download is trying to download a driver - which by the way will never download. I've gone in to see what driver is trying to download but it's just labeled as "Unidentified." I'm not sure if these issues are related or completely unrelated at all but any guidance would be appreciate it.

PS - keep in mind that I'm not a tech guy but good at following directions so please dumb things down for me if you can.

Hello Frank and welcome to Seven Forums.

Since this just recently started, I think the first thing I'd try is restoring my computer to an earlier date/time using a system restore point.

    System Restore

Whether this helps or not, I'd also check to see if there are any damaged or corrupt system files by running a system file checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option two.) If problems are found run the scan 3 times, rebooting in between each scan.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

If you're still getting the Windows Recovery Error you could also open the Device Manager to see if there are any yellow or red flags. You could then try to update any driver problems.

How Do I Open Device Manager in Windows 7?

Establish a Clean Boot following steps in the blue link, then if necessary work through the other Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7.

If these fail run a few passes of Startup Repair
