Need help resetting a laptop I purchased used

I bought a laptop from the pawn shop a few days ago, and I have not been able to reset it to factory. The reason being that I need a password to get that option. I restart the computer and enter F8 until I get to the Advanced Boot Options screen where I can select repair computer. When I select repair computer it takes me through the System Recovery Options to a window that asks me for a password. What can I do? Any info would be helpful thanks

You can't do much I'm afraid.

Is there a COA sticker underneath and laptop or inside the battery compartment? If so, are all the letters of the product key still legible? What version of Windows does the sticker refer too (e.g Hm Prem, Ult)?

Do NOT post the product key here!

    Regards,
    Golden

Ahhh, OK. There is a glimmer of hope........

    Try OPTION2 here:
Product Key Number for Windows 7 - Find and See

If we can find the key, then you can do a clean install which is better than a factory reset.

Read the tutorial. You can use either option 2,3,4,5 or 6.
