    Windows 7 Search not listing results of indexed secondary RAID0 HDD B:

    So:

    I have done all of the indexing options and indexed my entire computer and each HDD RAID array. Some total of 250K files. I have changed the indexed file extensions to include every file type.

    I have 10k or so *.log and *.out files on secondary HDD RAID0 array (WD 1GB 7200 RPM x 2) and when I search for ext:.log all I get are the results on the c: drive. If I search in the B: drive I get ZERO results.

    I have moved the MyDocuments lib and "Desktop" location to teh secondary drive. And these files are in a folder on my Desktop.

    Any ideas?

    If you are using the MS default search, I have no idea why it fails to locate the files. I use Agent Ransack from Mythicsoft for searches and find it to be a much better choice, both for ease of use and results. It is free and can be downloaded from;

    Agent Ransack - Free File Searching Utility

    This is a personal preference and others have no problem using the built-in search feature.

    Here is an interesting addition.

    When I changed the location of the Index from C: to B: WHIT a ext:.log search window open. The moment the Index moved the search results appeared. But navigate away, and back to do the search again and you get nothing.

    Seems like the results only come up when the service is stoped.

    THX Sir Geo.

    I got Agent Ransack running and it does fine.

    I have to say that this must be a bug.

    I am glad Agent Ransack helped with the problem. Since I don't use the MS search, I can't comment on its functionality.
