Problem with Recent Programs list.

    If you copied the registry, then yes it will have messed everything up. Did you copy only the user folders (suppose to), registry, or both?
    Just the user folders. Didn't touch the registry, but something in my user folders must have affected the registry as it was being copied over. At least that's the only explanation I can think of for what happened.

    Do you think a repair install might fix this problem? Or am I doomed to have to do a clean install?

    I would give a repair install a chance to try and avoid a clean reinstall. Either way, it would be a good idea to backup anything that you do not want to lose to be safe.

    Of course. I'll make a fresh clone to my back up laptop drive as well as doing a fresh compressed image backup with Acronis TIH 2010 to an external hard drive before trying a repair install. Thanks for your assistance with this Shawn. Much appreciated.
