I am in the EXACT same situation. My monitor will "sleep" or go off or whatever anyone would like to call it but as soon as it locks, the screen will then turn on and stay at the login screen until I log in again. I also have Borderlands 2 installed and that is a newer install so maybe that IS in fact the issue. I don't see how/why?

Steam may be the culprit...

I have the same issue (in case you didn't see my other posting).

Going off the Borderlands 2 lead, I did some digging and got didly. I just got fed up one night and closed out of Steam - Didn't uninstall or disable anything, just simple exit.

And that seemed to work.

When I load Steam and leave it running, it goes back to the no sleep.

Try closing Steam and see where that takes you. I'm heading to their Support forums now to see if anyone is like us but if you can verify my results on your end, at least that makes two of us.

Hopefully, we have something now...

Locked computer dual monitor
I've seen a thread on this but I couldn't find an answer (there might not be one). ANYWAYS, when I lock my computer, my right monitor turns to a black screen instead of displaying the background of my lock screen. The screen doesnt turn off (its not to save power) as I can still move my...

Hi there, I recentley downloaded an alarm clock program by the name of '' Alarm Master Plus '' in evaluation trile. when I shut my computer off, instead of shutting it down I ask for the computer's sleep mode or '' Mettre en veille '' option (in french). The next morning I always find myself in...

Monitor not recognized when computer resumes from sleep mode
I'm not sure if this is a video card issue (AMD Radeon HD 6770), driver issue or monitor issue. I just rebuilt my system (Win7 Pro 64 bit) and everything has been functioning correctly for about two day. Now, when my computer resumes from sleep mode, my resolution defaults to 600 x 800 and says it...

Computer waking up from Sleep when I turn on monitor
Hi, my new pc does a strange thing, at least I find it strange because it's new: when the pc is on standby and I turn on the monitor, the pc wakes up. Now I don't mind this behavior, it is useful even, but I was wondering if it is documented somewhere because I had no idea this was possible and...

CRT Monitor locked at 60hz.
Hi, I just bought a new PC but I didn't buy a monitor. So I hooked my new rig to my old ADI Microscan 15 inch CRT monitor (don't laugh :p and I don't remember the model number). Now the refresh rate is locked at 60hz even if I uncheck the "Hide Unsupported Modes" option. With the old rig I could...

Monitor will not sleep when computer does
Hi all, I'm having some issue with my monitor deciding not to sleep. The system will sleep correctly, but as soon as it does, the monitor begins displaying "Check Signal Cable." What's interesting is that the problem cropped up randomly, leading me to believe a Windows Update is...
