Cannot open program from icon

    Cannot open program from icon


    I use Windows7 64 bit on a Dell.

    When I double click on a desktop icon, it just hangs. I have to do a ctrl-alt-delete to bring up task manager in order to get the program to open, which it then does open. How do I get around this???

    Welcome aboard, paulboca.

    Try it .... Default File Type Associations - Restore
    Download the registry entries for .exe and .lnk, merge those and see it it works or not.
