    Taskbar will no longer AutoHide

I have my Taskbar set to autoHide. It has worked fine until recently. Now it will not hide- I have tried toggling the autohide feature On and OFF. I can not even drag the Taskbar out of the way. Ideas?

Unpin or close any application that might keep the taskbar shown, such as messages windows from live messenger

Airbot- I ran SFAC /Scannow- it reported no errors
Limneos- I unpinned all applications from Taskbar.

Did not fix issue. If I toggle AutoHide, the Taskbar will hide ONCE- then it comes back up and will not hide again. I can manually drag the Taskbar to be bigger- but I can not drag it all the way down to hide it- it will go to about 1/2", one row of icons, and that is as small as I can manually drag it.

I don't think you can drag your taskbar down anymore than one row of icons, at least I can't. I really don't know why it won't auto hide all the sudden. Have you done anything recently like run cleaner/registry programs? Have you tried a system restore?

I don't think I changed anything today. I image my C drive nightly (Windows Home Server). I just thought I would throw this problem out there to see if there was an easy fix. Now I will resstore an recent image and hope it does not happen again. Thanks for trying to help.

Yep, let us know if it works out. I've never heard of this, except maybe malware making it happen.

Just completed Drive C (system files only) restore- 45 minutes. It works fine now. Very odd- I did not install any software today, But I did uninstall Norton 360 anti-virus (caused issues with my Eudora email program).

We will never know, I guess. Perhaps someone will stumble across this thread some day...

Well, Norton has been known to cause problems over the years so... a possibility.

Mine is doing the same thing. If I reboot everything is fine for a bit. It might work properly for an hour or a few days. Theres no rhyme or reason to it. I can close every window and nothing is left in the taskbar, but it still happens.

If I go to the taskbar properties and turn it off and then back on it works again, but only until I make it appear. Then it stays again. :s
