Why would my shift key be moving my cursor

When typing, my shift keys are moving my typing cursor. So, when I'm trying to capitalize or use a special character, the left shift key moves the cursor to the left and my right shift key moves it to the end of the sentence.

My computer settings are correct and there are no active locks set on my keyboard (like caps lock or num loc)k, I've already checked.

However, as a student trying to write enormous essays, this is quite irritating so any suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated.

I am running Windows 7 Home 64bit and the keyboard is a Hip Street model HS-KB050 .

I should also note that I have searched this online already and found a whole lot of nothing . . . I know it's likely not a problem with windows but I need some techie advice and this seems like a great place to get it
