if thats the case, then you could have seen that every software has its own way to browse the .key or .lic file to activate it. There is no native shell extension within windows to do this for you.

Still waiting for the software title. Cant help you if we dont know.

    Ken
Sir I told u the list is LONG. Say I name 25 softwares r u going to provide assistance for each and every software ? The name of some softwares r ulead photsmart, outpost firewall, babylon, NOD32, VB 6 etc. Even if u provide assistance I'm unlikely to use it b'coz as I said earlier I find merging licence.key file MORE convenient. The feature of merging licence key file was suggested by my techie friend and technical support member of one software over a chat. If u guys don't know the answer of my question then simply say no, pls don't waste my time by grilling me and posting unnecessary questions.

Sorry for belated reply was on another forum asking solution for this problem.
OK so since you are unlikely to use it because merging is more convenient, merge!

    Ken
Now this is getting funnier. Pls don't crack jokes. U KNOW VERY WELL THAT I'M ASKING HOW TO MERGE LICENCE FILE IN WINDOWS 7 LIKE XP. WINDOWS 7 DOESN'T SHOW THE OPTION OF MERGE WHEN U RIGHT CLICK ON THE LICENCE FILE.

I'm somewhat surprised about some reactions from my friends.

The OP did name the software when asked by z3r010.
    It was Teracopy.

It's an app to speed up copy over network, and indeed it has a license.key file to license it.

I to have a few older apps that need to be registered this way.
    Most of which I bought.
Not all. I'm not going to be a hypocrite about it.

What I don't understand is that the OP cannot right click and merge, because that functionality is still present in Windows 7.
    I just checked.

And so his question by it self is legitimate.

Do we have to be judges and jury in here?
Do people have to show proof of purchase before they get help?

We don't interrogate everybody with Win7 RTM in their specs do we?
We give them the benefit of the doubt, they either got it through technet or MSDN.
How likely is it, that a noob has a technet or MSDN subscription?

I saw two of my good friends neg repped the OP which in my opinion was totally uncalled for.

The OP was being attacked instead of helped imho, and so it's not strange he wasn't being cooperative but defensive instead.

If I was gullible (which I'm not) I would have to believe that none of SF members ever used any software without proper license, or has any mp3 that he didn't buy, and never ever copied a cd from a friend.
    Yeah right.

He who is without sin, may throw the first stone.

    I just can't stand hypocrisy.

    Razer:

    • You do not need any tricks to activate legal software
    • If you lost your license or product key, you get it from tech support for that said software
    • Arrogance towards people who are trying to help you does not work, it brings you nowhere
    • Most of the questions you've been asked here are simply to help us determine we are not talking about criminal activities like cracking or piracy
