    HP Probook 4520s doesn't start!!!

    Hello Guys!!!

I have HP Probook 4520s. I have 9 cell 7200mAh battery installed on my laptop. My laptop doesn't start up when i press power button while on battery power. When i press power button LED light (where charger cable connected) blinks four or five times and stops and laptop doesn't start but when i connected charger (AC Power) then it starts up and works normally. I am facing this problem from about a month and it doesn't solved. Please help me to solve my problem.....I am waiting for your replies.....Thanks!!!

Laptop batteries can suddenly fail without warning. Or over time they can slowly lose their ability to hold a charge. The fact that your laptop powers up when connected to AC power seems to support the idea that the battery suffered a complete failure.

Just to play it safe and not risk damaging the laptop's internal electronics, I'd remove the battery and run on AC only. If you have access to another battery from the exact same model laptop, you could substitute that battery for yours and see if your laptop works. If it does, you'd be pretty safe in saying your battery is dead. If you don't have access to another battery, you could take it to a local repair facility and ask them to check it. I think most shops will do this for free as a courtesy (at least the shops where I live do it that way.)

If you want to replace the battery, and if your laptop is still under warranty, buy an HP battery so you don't void the warranty. If it's no longer under warranty, or if you don't care, you can probably find a generic battery for a lot less money. Just remember: you get what you pay for and non-genuine batteries could have their own compatibility issues.

    Sorry for my confusion.

It works for me fine when i remove it from laptop and connects it again into laptop but that problem only occurs when i charged my battery otherwise it works fine for me
OK, if I'm understanding the problem:
    1. You connect the charger while the battery is in the laptop.
    2. When charging is finished and you remove the charger, the battery doesn't work.
    3. If you remove the battery and then put it back in, the laptop works.

       Warning

Remove the AC charger from the laptop. Remove the battery from the laptop. Hold the power button for at least 10 seconds to discharge any stored electricity. Follow any other safety warnings issued by computer or battery manufacturer.

Carefully check the battery and the battery compartment for any bent or loose pins. Make sure contacts are free of rust, dirt, etc. If you cannot see anything wrong it would be best to have an authorized repair shop (with proper tools and training) diagnose the problem. Especially since the battery is only two months old. It should still be under warranty, correct?

    Your understanding is slightly wrong:
    1. You connect the charger while the battery is in the laptop.
    2. When charging is finished and you remove the charger, the battery doesn't work.
    3. If you remove the battery and then put it back in, the laptop works.
    1. Yes
    2. No, charger is connected after fully charged and when i remove charger after full charge battery works fine.
    3. Yes

    Now what should i do?
    Any suggestions?
