Look you are probably just as well getting a new battery and try that rsn it could possibly be that the battery has enough charge to hold on but just not enough to boot from.
It's a bit like say a car the crank current is a real test out for the battery once going it has enough just to keep it running I know that it also has an alternator suppling current but you get my drift? Your battery just has lost that "crank" power.
