No, still a disk read error at startup but when I try the boot repair on the install disk it solves an error and I get the corrupted boot again, solvable by the same solution as before.
Boot your win 7 repair cd and try this:
bcdboot x:\windows /s c:
bcdboot x:\windows / s d:
bootsect /nt60 all /mbr
These should be run from Command Line in System Recovery Options .
If those fail then work through all of the steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start starting with the HD Diagnostics.
When I try the first two commands, it told me
"BFSVC: Failed to open handle to resume object. Status = [c0000034]"
On the last one, it didn't succeed on "G: <\\?\Volume{35cab553-1d81-11e2-9440-806e6f6e6963}>"
Telling "Could not open the volume root directory: The parameter is incorrect"
Same for \Device\HardDiskVolume3
For \??\Physicaldrive1 it says "Could not prepare disk(s) for update:
The device is not ready."
Use diskpart to find out what your windows partition drive letter is.
Then run the same commands, using the widows drive letter, in place of x

If you've instead recovered the bloated factory preinstall then here's how to Clean Up Factory Bloatware
