    Unknown programs running at startup

Hey everyone, i've been working on PCs for some time, and a friend of mine gave me his laptop to fix it/optimize it.

Now, I checked the startup with tuneup utilities and I saw those programs running:

    Tasktray
    Java Update Scheduler
    Windows Problem Reporting
    Bluetooth Adapter
    Catalyst Control Center Launcher
    Command Prompt
    Delayed Launcher
    Microsoft Security Client User Interface
    Synaptic Pointing Device

Which of them should I disable? I was surprised to see tasktray, delayed launcher and command prompt on startup.

Also, through the tuneup program deactivator I saw some odd programs running:
    Broadcom Bluetooth Software
    Intel Rapid Storage Technology
    LSI HDA Modem
    AMD Catalyst Install Manager

and others i am familiar with.

Which of these 4 should I disable temporarily? Are any of them needed for the correct usage of the laptop?

    Thank you for your time

Tasktray, I have no idea what that is but it is for some program that is installed so do a Goolge search.

Bluetooth adapter. Does the owner use any Bluetooth devices?

Command Prompt you should be able to shut down. Not sure why a CMD Prompt is starting with the system.

Delayed Launcher, No idea, again Goolge.

Cat Control Center, Not needed as who changes screen resolution and or makes other changes to the graphic card on a regular basis. Once it is set to what works most everyone leaves the resolution alone.

MS Security client interface doesn't need to be starting with the system startup.

All other are needed and should be left as is.

Broadcom and Intel are OK. If the owner doesn't use any Bluetooth then that could be disabled. As noted above.

LSI HDA Modem? Who uses a Dialup modem these days? Maybe for faxing? But if the owner doesn't do that then it can be shut down.

AMD Cat Install MGR not needed as more then likely you can only install Graphic drivers from the makers website and not directly from AMD.

Task Tray is from Amazon and isn't necessry, so it can be disabled from loading at startup.

    Visit the following site for advice on Windows Problem Reporting;
    http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/7863/disable-error-reporting-in-xp-vista-and-windows-7/

Bluetooth Adaptor software is self evident, used for Bluetooth devices, and can be removed.

    Command Prompt loading at startup, seel the following;
    https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/682-command-prompt-startup.html

Delayed Launcher is a utility program that I wouldn't use.

The others appear fine and can be left alone.

You can disable ALL startups (except the AV program and maybe the update launchers). Those processes will all be called when needed.

I keep my active security programs, bluetooth keyboard and mouse as startup programs. That it.

Sorry but IMHO that is false information. There are several things listed that should be running at startup. Like the Synaptic software (That is IF you want to use the touchpad) and the Windows Problem reporting, which is a service.

Saying to turn them all off is IMHO a disservice to the OP.

They will be running whether they are in the startups or not - don't worry.

    The options are:

    1. uninstall the program(s)
    2. disable with msconfig > startup tab
    3. disable with WinPatrol - that is what I use.
