    Problem with RAM


    Problem with RAM Hi Hope someone can help ,I have four gigs of ram but, in msconfig, in the tool section where you can change your Number of processors to show four or whatever the box beside [Maximum memory],that only shows 3072 Hoping you can Help, Thanks.

    Change the max ram to 4096 or just uncheck the box and also check make boot settings permanent and then restart.

    Is my vram not a seperate ram connected to my video cards ,why would my OS use that

    if you OS is 32bit it will include VRAM & other BIOS functions

    32bit only has a 4gb address space ''MAX''

    Before I unticked the box at the [Maximum memory] spot, when I ran Belarc it told me I had only 3 gbs of ram,now its telling me I have 4 gbs ,so it was the box being ticked that seemed to cause the prob, I am going to increase my RAM up to 8 gigs soon so I hope to see a bit of a difference ,thanks for your help,

    I have 64bit, Sorry I thought my specs said that ,if they dont i will fix now.

    do you have a ''memory remap'' feature in the BIOS..?? make sure its enabled
