Hi -- Try booting your system and as it is starting continually press the F8 button. This should bring up a screen that says Last Known-Good Configuration. Select that and see if it helps to get you to the desktop. Let us know.

When you boot your PC, do you see any print on the screen before it starts trying to load? You need to tap the F8 key from the time you turn on your PC about every second so as when the print comes on your screen it should take you to the screen I had said. Could you try it again please.

Go to the same screen as in Message 5 and hit the top option, Safe Mode. If you can get to your Desktop, then click on your Start button (left lower of screen). Above the Start button you will see a space. Type in the space == System Restore ==. It should come up in menu. Just click on it. You should see several dates that are available. Choose the one just before you started having a problem. Hopefully this will get your system back in shape. Let us know.

How old it your Dell? If it is 2 or more years old the drive could be failing.
