    General Questions

    Hey Guys,

I recently installed Windows 7 RTM on my Netbook and its running perfectly. I've only got a few questions though, when I startup my computer I'm not given the fancy windows 7 boot screen but instead the old Windows vista loader. Is there anyway to fix this?

    Hello Mitchell,

I agree with Tews, it sounds like you did a upgrade from Vista to Windows 7.

You can see if doing a repair install may be able to fix this for you without losing anything. If not, the it will take a clean install of Windows 7 instead.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Nope, I didn't have Windows Vista on my Netbook only windows XP. I split the hard drive in 2 and then installed Windows 7 on the clean half of the hard drive.

    No upgrades were done here.

    Mitchell,

I have read that if your graphics is not strong enough, then you would get the Vista green bar boot screen instead of the Windows 7 one. This may be the case since this is a netbook.

    Hey,

Thanks for your help really appreciate it. I guess its because I don't have an Nvidia ION Chipset.

Does your netbook have any Windows Aero features running? (Desktop Preview, glass transparency, etc....)

Umm, strange it would be strong enough to run Windows Aero but not the W7 boot screen. Was you copy of Windows 7 RTM from Microsoft, or some possiblly modified 3rd party source? If the later, then it could be from any modification done to it.
