    Show Desktop Question??????

I would like to know how I can turn that feature off. The problem I am having is that I cannot calibrate my touchscreen/pen tablet with that feature. One of the calibration buttons is right where that button is, you press it and the desktop pops up stopping the calibration. Very frustrating to say the least!!!

I saw the tutorial on how to change ti when you hover your mouse over it, but that won't help me with touching it.

    Thanks

    This tutorial doesn't work?

Aero Peek - Turn On or Off

Would temporarily Auto hiding the taskbar help while you calibrate, or unlocking the taskbar and moving it to another location on the desktop?

Airbot, Thanks for the quick reply. I need to turn it OFF so that when I TAP my screen in that spot it wont open. I figured out how to do turn it off by hovering, but I have to actually tap the screen with my stylus or finger when calibrating.

    Thanks!

BTW, that tutorial section is awesome! I have started to read this site so much I made it my homepage right now

id say try turning on autohide while you are calibrating. that way the taskbar will shift downwards allowing you to press that location.
On a side note.... that is really weird that it does that. most calibration screens I have seen have been full screen, disabling the desktop.
have you tried windows 7s built in calibrating tool? type 'calibrate' into the start menu to find it. (only shows on touch or pen enabled computers)

Hi toughbook, if you followed the tutorial to turn 'off' Aero Peek, and pressed OK, you will need to reboot/restart your computer in order for it to work. Did you do that?

Yes, I did do the reboot and it did not work when I hovered over the icon, which means I did have it turned off correctly. It's when you have to tap it, not hover.

I have used both the Windows calibrate, and the Panasonic app as well. They both take you into the corners, the Panny one takes you much further and in 3 different spots in each corner in order to get you a better calibration.

I will go on Technet and see if they know of something as well. I just remembered that my son has a HP Touchsmart with 7 on it, I will see what that one does.

Righ click on it...does it have a check mark next to peek at desktop? Uncheck it if it does.

Check mark gone, still doing it. This is just funky! I wonder if this is a simple case where MS has either not discovered this problem with Touch models, or they have not figured out a patch yet.

Did you try moving the taskbar to another location on the desktop while you calibrate?
