How to create install disks from an install of Windows 7/Recovery Part

    Hi

I have a new Asus CM6730 W7 PC (x64) it did not come with Install disk but it does have a recovery partition.

How do I make install disk for this W7 install, I want to format the recovery partition to use it for other things.

    Thanks

    Using the Recovery Partition:

    1. Press <F9> during bootup.
    2. Press <Enter> to select Windows Setup [EMS Enabled].
    3. Select the following recovery option.

    System Image Backup:
This feature allows you to burn the system image backup in DVD disks, which you can use later to restore the system to its default settings.

    4. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the recovery process.

Thanks for your help, I got exactly what I wanted.

Can you tell me where to get a manual from that I can save to a different PC, the link you sent was appreciated but I cannot search the PDF nor can I save it, the same applies to the ones on the Asus site.

    Any help appreciated

Normally with a branded Computer system it comes with a recovery partition but you need to burn recovery DC/DVD's upon first boot it prompts you normally.

You should be able to save the link above by right clicking and choose save as.

    You can save the manual as a PDF file by choosing a PDF printer driver, see image;

If you don't have a PDF driver, CutePDF works well and is free.

Download an ISO for your Windows 7 edition from mydigitallife.info, burn it to a disc, install from it, and activate with the product key that should be on a sticker on the Asus.

You'll have a clean Windows install. This has nothing to do with the recovery partition or an image.

I have my own OS install disks, I was actually looking to burn the drivers etc. to a DVD so I could use my own install disks.

    Thanks
