I wouldn't recommend removing that folder since it is used by Windows. Even if it doesn't create a problem now, it could in the future, as I have learned from lots of experience. I have screwed up Windows too many times to finally learn to just leave it alone if it is working ok. As they say "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

The folder PerfLogs is not system essential. It is the default location where Performance Monitor saves it logs when you enabled that. Otherwise, its useless.

Ok. I was just speaking from my many fails in experience in modding Windows 7 and deleting this that and the other. I was telling them to be precautionary. I don't want them to have as much of a screwed up pc as I had at times in the past

@questionmark rd /S /Q probably does the same. A more unix style command like rm can probably be found in gnu/win32 related sites or cygwin.

Hi Gew, how did you get the rm command in windows 7 ? I don't have it (I got Win7 x64 Ultimate). Do you use cygwin or something? Btw sorry to post in such an old thread, but I can't find any info about this.. Thanks Qm

"This folder is used by the system Performance Logs (Diagnostics).
It can be removed, but will be recreated by the system, when it is needed."

Quoted from the link below

I can Delete the PerfLogs in windows 7? - Microsoft Community

Quite an old post but this forum was my first result on google and the following was the above link, thought I would post it here just to verify for people that it will recreate the folder if it is needed in future.

I am pretty sure most programs, if saving a file will create the directory if it does not already exist.
