    How to reset registry permissions?

    I set a system restore 2 days ago. I then messed with the registry and it didn't go well. Today I went to reset it only to find the restore point I manually made was deleted.

    How do I reset the registry to how it was before?
    Keeping in mind I herp derped and didn't export it first for backup.

    SubinACL is giving a ton of errors, reporting that almost 50% of entried "failed" to be reset.

    Have you tried restoring to your earliest restore point?

    What did you do in the Registry?

    You can give Windows Repair All-In-One a try.
    Unselect all and then select just the Reset Registry Permissions checkbox.

    Hehe: How to permanently save a restore point

    I changed a bunch of permissions, now a lot of apps and drivers are not working properly. I changed about 20 lines and I didn't jot down which ones, very stupid on my part.

    @Ztruker - Thanks I'll give it a shot.

    I can't help on this subject but I am curious why you deleted 20 lines in the registry. What were you trying to do.

    I didn't delete, just changed permissions. Added Admin access to them.
