    action center is not able to run


    Hi I have a pc which is identical to mine which has a action center problem. I had a problem with the mcafee antivirus plus firewall which has been resolved but now the action center will no longer turn on. The icon appears to be enabled but everytime I try turn it on it says action center is not able to run. Does anyone know what I could do to fix it without doing a format?

    Hello rebelxti and welcome to Seven Forums.

    Suggest you run the official McAfee consumer products removal tool. Link is in step 2a in this McAfee guide.)

    How to uninstall or reinstall supported McAfee products using the Consumer Products Removal tool (MCPR)

    After running the removal tool I would next check for damaged or corrupt system files by running a system file checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option two.) If problems are found, run the scan 3 times and reboot the computer after each scan.

    SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

    I would also check for malware by running these free on-demand scanners.

    Malwarebytes

    ESET Online Scanner
