Thanks Bumpkin. I was only referring to moving the data temporarily off of D to F as one option to more easily create new data partition(s) in the space after shrinking C.

This method works best when you sort your data into the User folders, however other data folders can also be similarly linked to a library which suits them.

So here do I understand you are suggesting to keep data in the user folders like Admin\MyVideos? That data would remain on C wouldn't it? If so then that is defeating the purpose of removing data from C in order to just leave programs and the operating system on C.

On the partition you want to store your data files, you need to create folders. For the contents of your MyPictures, make a folder with a name referring to the content, maybe use the name Photos. Then right click on the folder and click Include in Library. Move your pictures to the new folder.

You need to do this for the other data folders, such as Documents, Music, etc.

Library's are really just shortcuts to the real folders/files.

I simply copy each User folder intact from C to D, rightclick each to add to related Library.

Then confirm the data from D is there in the Library. If so, in the same Library Window highlight the duplicate files in the C folder and delete them.

Similarly, if any files pile up in the C folder you can highlight and drag them over to D as you go, all in the same Library window.
