    Disable UAC in Windows 7 With Sidebar and Gadgets Working Properly

    Disable UAC in Windows 7 With Sidebar and Gadgets Working Properly » My Digital Life

    1- Open the notepad

    2- Paste this:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Sidebar\Settings]
    "SidebarDockedPartsOrder"="0x1,0x2,0x3,0x4"
    "AllowElevatedProcess"=dword:00000001

    3- Save as something.reg and enjoy the gadgets even if the UAC is turned off
    Im with the gadgets working right now with the UAC off without problems

    PS: have care with the Gadgets that you are going to install.

    Thank you Solid004!

    I was wondering why I could not get Gadgets to work in W7, and now I know it's because I disabled UAC.

    Off to make some changes to my Registry!!

    I'am on x64 also. Try clicking on the file again and add the value to the registry.

    Mine are all there like before. Strange. Must be Microsoft trying to punish us for attempting to turn off UAC.
