    A0380mon.exe file

i cudnt place A0380mon.exe process. A0380mon.exe, are located in c:\windows or c:\windows\system32 folder. Thus check the A0380mon.exe process on your pc whether it is pest. i recommend Security Task Manager for verifying A0380mon.exe,
Description: File A0380mon.exe is located in the folder C:\Windows\System32. The file size on Windows XP is 16,384 bytes.
A0380mon.exe is a file without information about the maker of this file. The program has no visible window. File A0380mon.exe is not a Windows system file. The file is an unknown file in the Windows folder. The process is loaded during the Windows boot process (see Registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run).

I looked around and found some references to it in the anti-spyware sites, but all said essentially what you posted. It may be spyware.

Have you had any unusual things happening when you log on to Messenger?

Just another thought - you might want to upload it to VirusTotal - Free Online Virus and Malware Scan and get it checked. If you go to the site, there are directions on how to do the upload, and the scanning is pretty fast.

I don't have the file in my versions of Windows 7 (MSDN and RC)

It is a Good Thing that VirusTotal gave a clean bill of health. :)

An educated guess would be that it is monitoring something - what firewall and antivirus are you running?

Here's something that I should have asked before - If you go to windows\system32 and right click on the file, is there anything under company or name in the properties?
