C:\is not accessible

I have read other solutions on the forum, but have yet to find one that really works for me. I have booted up in Safe Command System mode and typed Explorer when I get another prompt. This opens Windows 7, and my C drive is accessible and has security info. The problem is, when I simply boot up, C has no security tab and indicates 0 bytes used. Can anyone tell me how to make C accessible in a normal boot up? In other words, making what I see in Safe mode--the security tab and owners and permissions, and access to C available? Thanks for any help you may have.

try running sfc scan when in safe mode, see if that helps when you boot normally.
you may need to run sfc scan three times.

Thanks to everyone who responded to my problem; I was able to solve it by booting up in safe command mode, and entering "explorer," which brought up my desktop. When I clicked on the computer tab in the menu window, my C drive was visible, and had the security tab, and System and Administrator (My name) as owners. I fiddled around with permissions, rebooted in normal mode, and my changes had fixed it.

Again, I appreciate your help, and am glad there are so many Windows users willing to help others solve their problems, most of which couldn't be done if you had to rely on Microsoft.
