    Cannot Unpin Folder from Taskbar

I cannot seem to unpin a particular folder from the "Pinned" list for Windows Explorer on the taskbar. The folder refers to a network location that is no longer valid (i.e. \\192.168.1.4\foldername).

Is there anywhere I can manually delete these entries? I've Googled and looked in a number of places that were suggested but don't seem to see the list of folders anywhere. I've checked:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StartPage

    and

    C:\Users\<user name>\Appdata\roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar

Do you have your system set to show hidden?
What is your IP? that does look like an internal IP to me.

fill out your spec sheet. we need more than Win 7.

Thank you very much for the quick response Snuffy.

Yes, I have my system set to show hidden folders. The IP that I listed is the internal IP for the folder - it maps to a NAS drive that I have plugged into my router. To be clear, the problem that I'm having is removing the folder from the pinned list when you right click the Windows Explorer icon in the task bar. When I click the unpin icon next to the entry in the pinned list, it doesn't do anything - I attached a screenshot so you can see what I mean.

I updated my spec sheet to include some addtional detail as requested - let me know if you need me to add any more detail.

If it is hidden then i recommend you reset all back so as to not SEE the HIDDEN files, or SYSTEM Files. usually DELETING them if you can or do) cause MAJOR Problems.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND LEAVE THEM ALONE... HIDDEN AND SYSTEM FILES ARE THERE FOR A SPECIAL REASON.

Thanks again Snuffy. All I want to do is remove the folder from the Pinned list. The problem is that when I click the pin symbol that is supposed to remove the entry in the Pinned list, it doesn't do anything. I've included another screenshot so you can see what I mean.

I have the same problem, I can't unpin any network folders from my windows explorer icon on my taskbar. When I click the pin, the name of the folder that is pinned turns red and nothing happens. How do I remove these? They are replicating themselves, I have 4 entries of the same network folder pinned to the list and I never pinned it in the first place. Regular local folders can be unpinned as normal.

    Hi IroncladMerc,

Gald to see I'm not the only one. :) Just to let you know, I never did find a resolution to this issue. I would be very interested if anyone else has found a workaround.

    Cheers,

Tried that, it doesn't work for me. It let me unpin 2 of the items, but I still have 3 that won't budge.
