M$ is trying to overtake Apple in portable device sales and sell the Surface, Surface RT, and Windows Phones. Even Apple while having the lead in portable stuff, still gives their loyal users a desktop environment for the Macs. Maybe Apple will retaliate with some OsX that can be installed on a PC. With a usable desktop. That's easy and intuitive.
