What difference do you think Retail to OEM upgrade will do if your DOWNLOAD is a borked iso.

Unless your a TECHNET or MSDN - then apparently your using a BORKED
    ripped Download. Recommend -
    1. wait until you can get a OFFICIAL Download.
really unfair to ask for tech asistance if your COPIES are not 100% legit.

    please advise as to version of Win 7. RTM - OEM - x86 - x64 -
version 7000 thru 7600. starter, home, prem, Pro, Enterprise or Ultimate
    Legit or Illegal DL.

I have the same version as you so....

I am also unable to start Volune Shadow Copy and cannot make backups. vssvc.exe is in /system32 and the ImagePath under VSS shows %systemroot%\system32\vssvc.exe. Under the Task Manager Services tab Services button the only difference between this service and the others is the Path to executable is %systemroot%\system32\vssvc.exe instead of C:\windows\system32\filename. Depending upon how I try to start the service I either get the error 0x81000202 or Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks, zen

    VSS missing after Samsung Magician

    zen4dummies,
After attempting to back up to an SSD and installing Samsung Magician software, my Volume Shadow Copy Service no longer works. I get the same x81000202 error you did.

VSS starts as manual and points to 'C:\Windows\system32\vssvc.exe'

I suspect Samsung Magician did something to my registry. Did you ever find a solution to your error? The related info may help me. Thank you.
