Windows Not booting showing error

Is says this ->

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the
cause. To fix the problem:

1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer. (I don't have that!)
2. Choose your language settings and click "Next"
3. Click "Repair your computer."

If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

Info: Windows failed to load because a critical system driver is
missing, or corrupt.

Please help because I need this computer for school.

The first things you can try right away if you have a 7 dvd or a repair cd would be the Startup repair tool and starting up the Disk Check tool at the command prompt while booting live from either the 7 dvd or repair cd. If you have a recovery disk you may not find the repair tools since that's a Toshiba for you!

You may have to run the Startup repair tool a few times. Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times

If it works right away you still will want to run the Disk Check tool to clean up any errors on the C volume. In Windows you would right click on the command prompt icon found in Start>All Programs>Accessories if you are able to boot into 7 and arrive at the desktop. You then type in "chkdsk /r" and press enter then press Y when prompted to schedule it for the next startup.

The alternate method would be simply right clicking on the icon for the C drive and open up menu bar>Tools and under Error checking at the top click on the Check now button to see it scheduled there.

For getting the tool going while booted live at the command prompt option you would type in "chkdsk c: /f" and press enter. Allow that to run and then try booting up in safe mode if you just lately saw any updates for hardwares installed. Often a bad install will lead to problems where you have to remove one or two.

OK I have solved it I grabbed my dad's computer copied the files on to a flash drive booted a Linux system off the flash drive and overwrote the files.

In case you wanted to know I booted off of backtrack.

That's no surprize! To swap out a modified version of a driver used for the Windows startup sound I simply booted into the other drive which now see Linux Mint Debian presently installed.

Data recovery sticks are seen to by either a custom install of a distro or write of a live iso image for one to a flash drive. That simply puts another OS to work when you have a Windows problem or task involving any protected files.
