When I set it to 1680*1050 I have an error message on my monitor saying that it is out of range.
I also thought it was the refresh rate, but at this resolution I do not have a choice, it can only be set at 60hz.
Also, yesterday, the monitor worked for a couple hours at the correct resolution. But after I shut the computer off and opened it again today the screen screws up again.
It is very weird and random... The only thing I did on my computer yesterday when the monitor was working correctly was watch a couple tv shows. I didnt even have internet and haven't installed anything...
Sounds like a cable issue to me since it's intermittent. Can you get another DVI or VGA cable (whichever you're using) to try?
If not, check that all the pins aren't bent and that when connected, is tight and secure.
I don't have another vga cable around. I'll try to find one somewhere.
I checked the pins and they all seem to be fine. But it's weird though, because if it was a problem with the cable the monitor shouldn't even show anything right? and in my case, its just the highest resolution that doesn't work. I'm still able to use the monitor with a lower resolution. Or maybe I'm wrong and a problem with the cable could affect just the highest resolution?
Ehh, unfortunately the 1000HE only has vga output. DVI would have been nice though, heh.
