    Fan option in BIOS

    Hi,

There are 2 options in the BIOS for my laptop fan:

    Silent and Normal.

Right now, it is running under option 1 - "Silent".

This may well be the reason why I don't hear any sound of the fan (unlike my other laptop that has a relatively noisy fan coming ON and OFF from time to time).

Do I need to switch to "Normal" mode?

Will there be any problem in the long run if I stay with the existing setting?

The touchpad area and its vicinity are sometimes hot (not too much though) under the current setting. Has this anything to do with that BIOS option for the fan?

    Plz advice.

    Regards
