hardware issue or windows 7 issue

A couple months back, had issues with windows attributed to virus. I formatted C drive and did a clean install. Last week, windows was having issues with win explorer stopping , random crashes etc so i did another clean install Friday.

Since then, I have had a few blue screens of death flash then the PC goes off.

Is it possible there is something wrong with my hardware vs win 7? is there software that will check my C: drive (an SDD Drive) and memory for issues?

Post up the crash dump file for analysis in our Crashes forum: https://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html

Then begin working through the Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 starting with the hardware tests. If your SSD is still under warranty have their Support help you test it for possible RMA - we see plenty that need it.

i download the SF tool and it said no dump found. i followed the instuctions to create a memory dump.

    since my last posting, I have been getting the following issues nearly every use of my PC;
    1) BSOD
    2) black screen that says I/O Error
    3) message that windows explorer is shutting down
    4) the computer just 'locks up" and i cant select anything. my mouse curser just spins and doesn't let me select anything.

also, my sdd drive is from OCZ. i contacted them but haven't heard back. I DL'd their diagnostic tool but it wont run on the C: drive because its the start up drive. it recommends booting from another source. when i boot from my win 7 disk, i only have the options to repair or install.

    any suggestions?

Most manufacturer's HD diagnostics tests have a bootable DOS version to burn to CD or write to flash stick. I'd also do the RAM tests and any other steps in Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start.

I'm wondering if formatting was enough since it doesn't erase anything. In some cases after severe infection it's necessary to wipe the HD with Diskpart Clean Command.

Once you have the cleanest slate, take the time and care to ge t a perfect install following the best practices in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which are the same for retail.

I'm going through the troubleshooting list. when i get to sfc/scannow, i get:
you must be an administrator running a console session in order to use the SFC utility.

I ordered a new Kingston sdd drive today.
On a pure whim, I uninstalled my bitdefender Internet security. Since then, my computer is noticeably faster an no crashes freezes or other random issues in the last hour. In the last several weeks, I haven't made it past 10-15 minutes before an issue.

    Could be the culprit.

Can anyone recommend a easy, basic antivirus software. I'm also running malwarebytes full protection.
