Yes a known good charger. With and without battery and there is no difference.

If there is no mobo activity then it may have failed. Are you aware of which LED's should be lit if there is mobo or CPU activity?

You can pull the RAM sticks out from door in bottom to see if it beeps which will indicate mobo life.

I tried removing the RAM and heard no beeps, but the fans and the optical drive are still turning on. I could feel and hear the fans turning on but only for a few secs. The only LED indicators the laptop has are power, charing, HDD, and wireless connections. I'm pretty sure the power and HDD LEDs need to be on when booting but it never indicates the the HDD is being read at startup. So I'm guessing the mobo isn't dead since the fans are still turning on but no beep codes has me stumped.

edit I'm taking a wild guess at this but I don't think there is a beep code on the laptop and instead its LED codes, so motherboard may still be working.

Either you need a new AC power adaptor, or something got fried .. do you know if this laptop ever got extremely hot when it worked?

Nope, the laptop was never extremely hot.. How do I check if something got fried and how? All I was doing was doing a clean install and then when I comeback the laptop doesn't turn on...
