    Create new user from regedit

    Hello,

I want to create a new windows user from regedit. Only changing regedit. Without changing in control panel. Is that possible?
Can I do that? Only changing regedit.

I looked in google these days and I didnot find something that works.

    Hello Miros,

You can't create a new user account in Windows using regedit, but you could use OPTION THREE in the tutorial below to do so in an elevated command prompt.

    User Account - Create

    Hope this helps, :)

Hello Brink, now I understand that I didnot find info in google, that why it is not possible.
Anyway, just a little light about elevated command prompt. When I try to repair Windows from Windows 7 DVD, and I can choose Repair >> command prompt, is that elevated command prompt?

That would be a command prompt at boot instead, but you can only create a user account from within Windows and not at boot.

Do you not have an administrator account that you could use to create accounts with in Windows?

Well, what I want to do is create a new user, because currently user is affected by virus, and I want to try to create a new user out of Windows. I can boot with some regedit linux and edit regedit, or boot with Windows 7 repair disk, but as I see, there is no way to create a user when Windows doesnot load correctly, right?

For example letīs take the virus with policie nacional. It affect only a user. If I create a new user it will not load that virus. But with this virus is not possible to load Windows. That virus kill: explore.exe, regedit.exe ant so on....

So, I am looking out, how to create a new user account out of Windows. By Linux, or other Windows too. Are you sure that is NOT possible?

No, I cannot. User is infected. I can boot it only if I edited regedit, and remove the virus from RUN.
I did it and it works, but what I am looking for is to create a completely new user because thatīs better then reinstall windows. A lot of times, create a new user mey be a solution, but if Windows doesnot start, I cannot create a new user.
Thatīs why I am looking how to create a new user out of Windows for futures cases.

If you haven't done so, you could try enabling the built in Administrator account, and use that to boot Windows and create a new personal account.
You might need to use Option Four in this tutorial:
Built-in Administrator Account - Enable or Disable

For an infected PC i prefer to restore an offline uninfected backup image, or re-install Windows...

Anyway, something you could try before re-installing...
