Windows 7 freezes on start up

Ok so I'm a college student and have a paper on my laptop that's due tommorow. I'm trying every way to reboot but its not working. It works in safe mode but my school wifi requires installing software to use Internet which I can't do in safe mode. I read countless forums and I tried everything. Start up repair has been going on for the past hour. I tried rebooting to last successful boot but doesn't work. It freezes no matter what I do. When I tried showing startup process witch each disk to try and solve the issue it just shows - process kernal and a a bunch of system info. Idk what to do please help. Thanks

Hello Mattyd and welcome to Seven Forums.

Have you tried rolling back your computer to an earlier date/time with System Restore (before this problem started?) You could also run System Restore from Safe Mode if need be.

    System Restore

If this doesn't help you could try working through the troubleshooting steps prepared by one of the forum experts.

Every time I start my Windows, I always get this message on a second BIOS screen: 'Windows did not shut down properly'. I have to click 'Start Windows normally every time. Waste of time. How to bypass that?

The way you shut down your computer could affect how it starts up the next time and whether or not you get that 'Windows did not shut down properly' error message. How are you shutting down your computer? The start button? The power button? Closing the lid if it's a laptop?

If you're shutting down using the start button, a frequent cause of 'Windows did not shut down properly' could be a process or app that was still running in the background. You could make a desktop shortcut to shut down the computer and any open programs.

Right click an empty space in the desktop > New > Shortcut, > then type: Shutdown -f

Now instead of shutting down the usual way, just use that shortcut to shutdown. If you no longer receive the error message it means some program isn't shutting down properly. If you post back with the requested info and the results of using the desktop shortcut other troubleshooting steps can be provided.

Since you're trying to hibernate you may have to change your power plan settings.
