    My computer will not start in safe mode


    Hi I'm a complete novice at this
    My computer will not start-up normally
    Or in safe mode, Failure ID 6CQ708-4RH6B4-XD03HF-60Q003 When I run hard disc test
    It stops loading when it gets to \ Windows\system 32\drivers\NISx64\1008030.006\SYMEFA64.sys
    Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you very much Alan

    SYMEFA64.SYS = Symantec Extended File Attributes

    Try:

    Consider uninstalling it with the Norton Removal Tool and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials at least to test.

    Recommended from a strict BSOD perspective, compatibility & stability compared to other antiviruses/internet security software. It is free and lightweight:-
    Do not start the free trial of Malware Bytes; remember to deselect that option when prompted.

    Run a full scan with both (separately) once downloaded, installed and updated.
