So far so good. I want to give it a few days and see if it stays sane.

BTW, how would I go about making the application I just disabled a "verified" application? It was one I developed under Windows XP and it worked fine there.

Autoruns displays the text "(Not verified)" next to the company name of an image that either does not have a signature or has a signature that is not signed by a certificate root authority on the list of root authorities trusted by the system.

Well you see.. i did install the software and for me ... it never set an entry to Explorer as in your case in had an entry ??

Did you develop the app ??

Yes, I developed the app. I don't recall where I left off getting it working for Windows 7 64-bit. So perhaps my trouble is because I may have found a way to temporarily jam in the shell extension until I figured out the right way to do it.

Thanks a lot centaur78! Your comments have caused me to go back and examine the program a bit. There are some pieces of work I left incomplete regarding help for Windows 7. The program installs with a hlp file which should be called out at different places depending upon the context in the program. It's not working right in the Win7 environment for some reason.

I'll check out the suggested link.
